Thank you for renting with

Lemon studio co.

Here is some important information to help you get started in the studio.

Accessing the studio

On the studio door, you'll find a black keypad lock. It connects to an app via bluetooth that will allow you to unlock the door during your rented time slot.

Setup

  1. Download the Master Lock Vault Enterprise app.

  2. Check your inbox (possibly spam folder) for an email from Master Lock. Ignore the link in the email. You'll just need the organization ID (lemonstudioco) and the temporary password it gives you to create a login in the app.

  3. Once you've successfully logged in, you should see the Lemon Studio Co. lock listed within your app.

Entering the studio

Your access to the lock will begin 10 minutes prior to your rental time. We just ask that if there is another renter in the studio before you, that you wait until they leave or until the start of your rental time to enter the studio.

  1. Make sure bluetooth on your phone is turned on.

  2. Open your Master Lock Vault Enterprise app. Stay on the Authorized Locks screen.

  3. Once your access time begins, start by "waking up" the lock by pressing any button on the keypad. The numbers will light up when the lock is awake and ready.

  4. A key button should appear next to the Lemon Studio Co. lock in your app. Press the key to unlock the door and enter the studio. You will hear the lock unlocking, and it is important to wait until it is finished before trying to open the door. If you try to open the door too early, it will not work and you will have to re-lock and try again.

  5. Once inside, feel free to re-lock the door if you'd like. Do this by first pressing the small button near the dial on the lock's backside. This ensures the lock is still awake and keeps the electronic component engaged. Turn the dial to the right.

Exiting the studio

  1. If you previously locked yourself inside the studio, make sure to press the small button near the dial before turning the dial to the left to unlock the door.

  2. Once outside and ready to leave, don't forget to lock up the studio behind you. Wake up the lock by pressing any button on the keypad.

  3. Press the lock button on the keypad (bottom right). You should hear the deadbolt locking. Make sure it worked by wiggling the door, then you're good to go!

P.S. - Sometimes the lock beeps a few times after being locked or unlocked. We admittedly cannot figure out why. Just wiggle the door to make sure it's closed/locked properly, and otherwise ignore it!

General info

The light switch for the dimmable recessed lights is located on the back wall of the shooting space. Turn it up 3/4 of the way to avoid the lights flickering.

The light switches for the florescent lights are located at the back of the hallway.

A dressing room is available for use and a restroom is located in the back.

using the motorized backdrop roller

Our seamless paper and vinyl rolls are supported by a motorized roller system. Don't worry, it's actually quite simple!

  1. Find the switch box on the wall next to the roller system.

  2. Find the switch labeled with the roll color you want to use.

  3. Press down on the switch to lower the roll. As it lowers, guide the roll out and away from the wall to avoid creasing or tearing the roll.

  4. The roll will automatically stop once it has lowered a set amount.

  5. When you're done with the roll, press up on its control switch to raise it back up.

  6. The roll will automatically stop at a set position.

using the strobe lights

  1. We have 2 strobe lights that you are welcome to use. First, plug them in! We have extension cords located on the white cart if you need them.

  2. Turn on the strobe lights, as well as the triggers that are hanging on the lights.

  3. There is a third trigger located on the white cart. This one goes on your camera’s hot shoe mount. The number dial on each trigger should be set to the same number.

  4. Once the trigger on your camera is turned on, the strobes will connect to your camera. (Just an FYI, sometimes the triggers don’t like to work if you are shooting in live mode, but should work great if you use your viewfinder.)

  5. The only control on the strobes you will need to adjust is the dial in the middle, which turns the flash power up or down.

  6. When you are finished with the lights, please make sure to turn all lights and triggers off. Return the camera trigger & extension cords to the white cart.
